Kamikaze

A birthday gift for my boyfriend's sister. This is her female pearl cockatiel Kamikaze, Kami for short. (I hope I got that name right, FFFFFFFFFFF)

I'm sorry Heather. I started your gift, and then I got a block on it. Nothing was turning out right. So I decided I'd do the sketch for this. Loose drawing would help me loosen up for linearting your gift. But, it didn't. So I began the actual panting on this out of frustration. I found it very soothing, and addicting. It was frustrating because I had to restart the shading from scratch, but the repetitive strokes became soothing. c: So...... I'm a butthead who did this first because it came to me more easily. I'm sorry for being a butthead. :0 I'll try and finish yours up ASAP. Unfortunately, I have your gift and another to work on. 3 birthdays in a row, adsskgklak. x__x

Anywho, on to the actual picture itself. I'm still very new to lineless artwork and painting, but I feel that this turned out pretty decently. For being unable to draw birds to save my life and having no clue how to paint, I think this is pretty darn good. c: I learned a lot about how to paint from this. Well, the basics at least. So all in all, this was a fun learning experience with a fairly successful outcome. I'm eager to try more painting in the future. Hopefully the recipient of this thinks it looks good too.
